Shang Yang's Reforms
Shang Yang’s Reforms presents organisation as a source of military power. It expresses reform through coordination between two Infantry units, and is a guaranteed bonus card rather than a random scarce pull.
MERIT AND MOBILISATION
Once per battle, instead of your action: move one friendly Infantry one space without combat, then attack with a different friendly Infantry. The attack is optional.
What it means in play
Once per battle, instead of your action, move one friendly Infantry one space without combat, then optionally attack with a different friendly Infantry. The effect grants no Rank increase and is marked SR0.1 playtest.
The historical lens
Shang Yang’s mid-fourth-century reforms sought to strengthen Qin through law, rewards, agriculture and military service. The two-step Infantry effect translates mobilisation into play; it does not claim to model the reforms’ social consequences.
